Abstract
Abstrak— Continuous drive friction welding (CDFW) telah banyak dipakai sebagai salah satu jenis proses pengelasan yang penting. Penelitian ini memodelkan proses CDFW dengan memanfaatkan software aplikasi ANSYS 18.1. Material yang disambung adalah Al6061. Parameter proses yang diteliti adalah sudut chamfer (15 o, 30 o, 45o), burn off length (7, 8, 9 mm) dan upset pressure (120, 220, 240 MPa). Asumsi model material pada pemodelan ini menggunakan bilinier isotropic hardening. Jumlah pemodelan dilakukan sebanyak 9 buah berdasarkan matrik L9 Taguchi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi sudut chamfer, upset pressure dan BOL berpengaruh pada ukuran flash pada sambungan las gesek. Panjang flash arah horizontal terkecil sebesar 12.639 mm dihasilkan pada parameter proses dengan sudut chamfer 45o, upset pressure 220 MPa dan burn off length 9 mm.

Abstract—Continuous drive friction welding (CDFW) has been widely used as an important type of welding process. This study models the CDFW process by utilizing the ANSYS 18.1 application software. The material to be joined is Al6061. Process parameters studied were chamfer angle (15o, 30 o, 45 o), burn off length (7, 8, 9 mm) and upset pressure (120, 220, 240 MPa). The material model assumption in this modeling uses bilinier isotropic hardening. The number of modeling carried out as 9 models based on the L9 Taguchi matrix. The results showed that the variation of the chamfer angle, upset pressure and BOL affected the flash size of the friction weld joint. The smallest horizontal direction flash length of 12,639 mm was produced in the process parameters with 45o chamfer angle, 220 MPa upset pressure and 9 mm burn off length.
